We keep a big stock of anchors, mainly the most commonly used ones, i.e. Hall type, but we can provide, at notice, any type needed. We have installed the one and only – in Greece – approved electronic testing bench up to 500 Ton capacity. It has the ability to test anchors apart from chains and other equipment and we can issue the appropriate certificates with the respective test load at the time of the test.
HOLDING POWER TO WEIGHT RATIOS OF VARIOUS ANCHORS
USEFUL INFO: The anchor holding power ratios given in the following table intend for use with conventional anchor weights up to 13,600 kgs only; heavier conventional anchor may possess lower holding power to weight ratios. The holding power ratios represent values established by filed tests and performances.
BASIC POINTS FOR THE CORRECT ORDERING OF ANCHOR CHAINS AND THEIR ACCESSORIES
– The most important point for any further size definition of the dimensions of the common link itself and all other accessories, is the diameter of the common link of an anchor chain. This figure is the base to all other dimensions. – The size of the 27.5 meters results from the conversion into meters of the length of 15 fathoms, which the British Admiralty used and is now universally established. – A correct length of 27.5 meters must have an odd number of links. The diam. of any link is measured at exactly 45Æ degrees from the link’s hole center to the length of the chain. – In order to facilitate our customers, we include the table of the next page that accompanies this passage, the dimensions of the enlarged links as well as the dimensions of the end links that correspond to each diameter of chain. All our anchor chains and equivalent accessories are brand new delivered with appropriate certificates needed depending on the registry to which each ship is cleared by. Accessories of anchor chains such as swivels, forerunners, kenter shackles and anchor shackles as well as accessories for mooring systems, triplotes etc. are in our stock.
